Many people only think about booking an eye test when their vision becomes blurry or uncomfortable. But clear sight is just one part of what a comprehensive eye examination looks after.

At R&F Opticians, routine eye tests are an important way to monitor your overall eye health and can often detect issues long before you notice symptoms.

During your appointment we don’t just check whether you need a change of prescription. We also look for early signs of conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular changes, along with general indicators of health including blood pressure or diabetes-related effects.

How often should you have an eye test?

· Adults aged 16–69: usually every two years

· Children: Yearly, sometimes more often

· Over 70s or those with existing conditions: as advised by your optometrist

Early detection makes a big difference

Many eye conditions develop gradually and painlessly. Catching them early often means simpler treatment and better long-term outcomes.

If it has been a while since your last visit? Now is a great time to put your eye health back on the priority list.

Book your eye test today and enjoy peace of mind knowing your vision is in good hands
